Researchers spot AI agents probing real websites

  • It counts 6,467 reports with significant evidence of agent activity and 31,182 with suggestive evidence, from at least 6 March to 16 September 2026.
  • Three times, in May and June, agents sent exploit probes at public data sites. None appears to have succeeded, the authors say.
