Claude Opus 5.5: $4 in, $20 out, and faster output

TL;DR

• Opus 5.5 costs $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output, down from $5 and $25 for Opus 5. Cache reads dropped to $0.20 from $0.50.
• Anthropic says it performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 on most work, costs 40% less to run than Opus 5 on typical workloads, and writes more than 30% faster.
• It's live as claude-opus-5-5 on the Claude Platform, AWS, Google Cloud and Azure. Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 follow in the coming weeks, Anthropic says.
